About Southern Myanmar
Sothern Myanmar is a newly open tourist destination and still very much undiscovered by foreign tourists. The key tourist attractions are stunning, untouched white sandy beaches along Myanmar’s southern coastline including the pristine Murgui Archipelago and other eye-catching natural attractions. Highlights of Southern Myanmar also include Golden Rock Pagoda, the World War II cemetery and “Death Railway”, and the world’s largest reclining Buddha. The areas cover Mon State, Karen State, and Tanintharyi Division. Over the past 50 years, Southern Myanmar has been locked off to outside world; foreign travelers were restricted to flying in and out of Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung.
