Tour Description
This tour takes you to the main historical places of interest in Kanchanaburi where you will have fun and get to know better about this lovely western province; the home of the famous Bridge on the River Kwai. You will enjoy the ride on the train to the Krasae Cave; get the best information of the Death Railway construction during the Second World War at the memorial museum, and take a short trek along the walking trails at the Hellfire Pass.
Itinerary
| 08:00 am. | Our A/C van will pick you up from your hotel/guesthouse in Kanchanaburi/Bangkok (If you start from Bangkok, we will pick you up at 06:00 am.) |
| 08:30 am. | Visit the allied war cemetery, the main prisoner of war (POW) cemetery for the victims of Japanese imprisonment while building the Burma Railway during the Second World War, and then take you to the Bridge on the River Kwai which is the best known attraction of Kanchanaburi. The Bridge over the River Kwai is part of the infamous Death Railway built by the prisoners of World War II (POWs) under the supervision of Japanese Imperialism Army. |
| 10:40 am. | Enjoy the train journey along the famous Death Railway to Krasae Cave which is a woode bridge along the cliffs with a length of over 450 meters. The bridge was built by the Empire of Japan in 1943 to support its forces in the Burma (Myanmar) campaign of World War II. |
| 12:00 pm. | Lunch at local restaurant (L) |
| 12:30 pm. | Leave for Hellfire Pass |
| 14:00 pm. | Visit Hellfire Pass Museum and enjoy trekking along the walking trails where thousands of POW’s and locals lost their lives. Afterwards, visit the Memorial Museum where you will learn more about the story related to the Death Railway and its construction. |
| 16:00 pm. | Leave from Hellfire Pass |
| 17:30 pm. | Return to your accommodation in Kanchanaburi |
